This Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-76YK laptop looks pretty good a far as appearance goes. The plastic, black chassis has a subtle thatched pattern on it with a finish that nests somewhere between matte and shiny. In return, the laptop looks unremarkable, which is just what heavy-duty productivity users look for in a laptop.
Yes, the entire system is made out of plastic, so you shouldn’t expect any fashionable metallic touches or accents on it, but that shouldn’t be that big of a deal. This laptop weighs in at 5.27 pounds, so it will be easy to carry around as you’re on the go.
For many, the display is an important feature – this laptop has a 15.6” screen with the capabilities of supporting Full HD (1080p resolution). Mind you, it’s a non-IPS panel, but reading other reviews, we didn’t come across any complaints in regards to the viewing angles.
Powering this laptop, you’ll find an Intel Core i5-6200U processor with a total of 2.3 GHz of dual-core power, along with 8GB of ram and a 256GB SSD hard drive. Looking at the statistics, of course, it’s not the most powerful laptop in the world, but it is able to handle midrange gaming without problems.
You can have active video streams on Hulu. Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon all running at the same time while playing music in the background and performing a typing test in another tab. With this setup, the CPU works at 100 percent load, but will still manage to keep everything running with minimum slowdown.
As far as raw power goes, on the Geekbench 3 test, the laptop scored 5,663. One of the best features of the Aspire E5 is the graphics card in it. It has a Nvidia 940MX graphics card. Featuring 2GB of memory, this isn’t the latest and greatest model when it comes to Nvidia, but it makes for a fairly standard work machine, as well as a decent gaming rig.
Mind you, if you want to play The Witcher III in 4K, with the textures cranked up, it’s not going to happen. With this laptop, you need to go for less demanding games, such as Overwatch, Marvel Heroes, Heroes of the Storm and so on. If you are a gamer, the graphics card in this laptop is a major advantage.
Connectivity in Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-76YK laptop
As far as the ports go, you have the basics. On the sides of the laptop, you’ll find one USB Type-C connector, three regular USB ports, an Ethernet port and an HDMI port.
On the front of the laptop, there’s an SD card reader and on the right side, you have a writable DVD drive. The only complaint we noticed users talking about was the fact that two of the USB ports are pretty close to one another. This makes it hard for users to attach more than one dongle if the attachments are larger than average.
When it comes to the battery life, you’ll probably be amazed – it can last up to 9 hours and 43 minutes, which is more than average. With a battery life this good, it should last through international flights and the average workday.

If you’re looking for a good laptop on a budget, and you need one that is fairly powerful, then this Acer Aspire might be a viable option for you. It has good graphics, a super long battery life, 1080p resolution and looks decent. The laptop also has all of the ports you need throughout your work day. Go for it if yours needs need this laptop.
