From Acer, what you see is what you get. The first impression you are going to have with the Acer XF270HU model is that it is a simple monitor. In all honesty, it is very simple looking and doesn’t have too many high-end vibes around it. But that is good in a way. The bezels are not that big, and the buttons are well located as well.
The stand is solid and made out of aluminum. It does its job well, and there is no wobbling. You ca tilt the monitor, swivel it around and also pivot it into a vertical display. You can also adjust the height of the monitor that is very important for a lot of people. Overall, design wise, this is an excellent monitor.
Acer XF270HU Specs and Features
Let’s talk about the features and the specs that make this monitor what it is.
First things first, this is a 27-inch monitor that comes with a WQHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The native aspect ratio of 16:9 makes this display a very good one for consuming media like movies, online content and TV shows.
This is also an IPS panel. That means you will get a good representation of the image from pretty much any angle from your screen. Even when you are standing at an obscure angle in your room, the colors and details in the picture will remain the same. This is great when you have a lot of people in the room, and not everyone can sit right in front.
The monitor comes with a pixel pitch of 233mm. This is a good number and will help in preserving good detail in the picture when you are at a certain distance. The monitor also offers a refresh rate of 144Hz when you connect it via the display port.
The Acer XF270HU model comes with a feature called AMD FreeSync. This feature is a pretty cool one and helps you get a smoother gameplay. With this feature, the games’ frame rate is decided by the graphics card and not that of the monitor. So whatever fast motion or transition that is happening on the screen will happen smoothly, thanks to AMD FreeSync.
The response time of 4ms may not sound that great when you hear it, but it still works neatly. It helps in reducing motion blur and gives you a clear picture even when the objects are moving fast.
The monitor also comes with Acer’s EyeProtect technology. As a result of this tech, the monitor now flickers a lot less than before. This also helps in reducing the blue light that is emitted from the screen. If you sit in front of the screen for a long time, these two features will be a good addition for you.
There are 4 USB 3.0 ports, 1 Display port 1.2, 1 HDMI port, 1 DVI port, and 1 MHL port. There are also 2 2W speakers that offer a decent output. We recommend you to get a separate set of speakers if you are concerned about your sound quality.

That’ll be the end of this Acer XF270HU review. This is an excellent QHD gaming monitor, and that price is pretty hard to beat. If you are searching for a nice gaming monitor at an affordable cost, then this one is it.
