The Dell i5368-0502GRY is a 2-in-1 laptop that has a sleek design – it emphasizes a whole lot more screen and a lot less bezel so that it points your attention in the right direction – straight to the wide-angle display.
The versatile 360-degree hinge makes for four modes that you can choose, depending on your environment. You can go for tent mode when you’re at the kitchen table and when you’re at your desk typing out a paper, you can go for laptop mode.
When you want to play around on social media, you can set the laptop in tablet mode, which is a personal favorite. The wide-viewing angle screens give a clear view in each one of these modes.
With the “high-resolution touchpad,” you will have more fluid panning, zooming, and pinching, for an experience that’s quick and smooth.
The Dell i5368-0502GRY has a good 13.3-inch touchscreen in it. We’re saying it’s “good,” because of the 1080p resolution and the hinge that makes it capable of rotating 360 degrees. Due to the Full HD resolution in this laptop, you will be able to fit a lot of icons on the display screen.
At the top of the display, you will find a webcam. It’s not great, but it’s decent, with 720p video resolution. With this webcam, you can do conference calls, and talk to your family and friends via Skype.
Out of the CPU, RAM, and storage, the best feature would be the processor. The processor is the Intel Core i3-6100U, which comes from the 6th generation line. It is capable of offering 2.3GHz clock speed – it has two cores and does not have a turbo. With a processor like this, there are many things you can do, ranging from occasional photo editing to basic web browsing. The CPU Mark score for this was 3500, which is decent.
The memory of 4GB is acceptable for light users. However, if you feel you need more, and you probably will, there is one slot available. This additional slot will allow you to bring the maximum memory up to 16GB.
For a portable 2-in-1 laptop, the SSD option is the right storage choice. However, there is only a 500GB 5400RPM hard drive in this laptop. This is one of those old school hard drives and is slower than SSDs. We are sure that some power users might be bothered by this. If you know how to, however, you can install a good solid-state drive yourself. That will help the case of speed in a big way.
The battery is a 56Whr with 4 cells. It can last between 5-6 hours and of course, if you would like a longer battery life, you can always dim the screen. Light users might be able to squeeze some more out of this battery with their usage.
This laptop has a total of three USB ports available. One of those is a USB 2.0 and the other two are USB 3.0s. Another port that is available on this laptop is the HDMI-out, which will allow you to hook up an external monitor to the laptop. Unfortunately, you won’t find an RJ-45 port on this laptop, so you won’t be able to use a network cable. However, it does have a really good WiFi card in it (802.11ac + Bluetooth).
If you’re a gamer, you’re not going to be happy with this laptop. The gaming performance is the biggest downfall of this device. This laptop doesn’t have a dedicated graphics card, it has one integrated on the processor.
It will do fine with older games that run on the browser or even Sims. However, don’t try to run newer titles, like Fallout 4 or GTA 5. If you do, you’ll come out with a low 20FPS, even if you have it on low settings. If you are a mid-range gamer, then you’ll be fine with the Dell i5368-0502GRY.
Dell i5368-0502GRY Review: Verdict
If you’re not a gamer, then this Dell laptop might be the perfect option for you, because it does have some strong points. First, it’s quite a powerful unit that is capable of handling those heavier tasks. Second, the screen supports Full HD, which just so happens to be something power users enjoy. With a price this low, it’s still powerful, making this laptop a good option.
