Design

This laptop is definitely easy on the eyes and the design is a major part of this equation. This laptop comes with an aluminum body that will let you know right away that you’re dealing with a high-quality laptop.

It wouldn’t be fully convertible if it didn’t have a touchscreen and the case is very formidable.  Since this is a 13-inch laptop, there’s a big upside to it and that is the portability. It weighs a little over 3.4 pounds, so it’s light and easy to carry around.

Take note that since it is so small, this means there is no room for a dedicated numeric pad, which can be a downfall if you’re big on crunching those numbers.

Dell i5368-8833GRY 2-in-1 laptopDell i5368-8833GRY Specs

Specifically, this Dell i5368-8833GRY laptop has a 13.3 IPS full HD display that is backed with WLED-backlit technology. The viewing angles are decent and the details are crisp. This beautiful 13-inch display supports Full HD resolution. The hinge that rotates the unit into a tablet is an interesting point – the viewing angles, according to the manual, are 160 degrees. At the top of the screen, you have a 720 webcam which can be super handy for video calls.

This notebook is powered by the latest generation Core i7 processor. If you are a power user, this is a dream come true. It runs on two cores and 2.5GHz clock speed (with turbo, 3.1GHz). The laptop has received a decent score in CPU Mark tests with a score of 4300 – this means it can handle Photoshop and other heavy software.

On the same note, when it comes to the memory in this laptop, you’re not going to be disappointed. It has an 8GB DDR4 2133MHz stick installed in it. If you feel the need to do so, you can upgrade it by adding another stick to it, giving you a total of 16 GB RAM. That’s some serious memory power right there.

As far as the battery life goes, it is fairly decent and can last up to 6 hours before you need to recharge it. It has a 4-cell 56Whr battery, so it isn’t that bad. However, if your usage is light, then you should see it lasting for a while.

There’s more…

Despite the laptop being small in size, you still have enough ports. You have two USB 3.0, one USB 2.0 and one HDMI output that you can use. You don’t have RJ-45, but you do have a speedy WiFi adapter available.

Due to the size of the laptop, there are limitations inside. For this reason, a DVD burner isn’t installed. However, this isn’t a major downfall, because you can still hook an external one up to the computer. Also, who uses DVDs these days(this question is not for gamers, of course)?

Unfortunately, if you’re a hardcore gamer, this laptop won’t be a good option for you. Due to the Intel HD 520 graphics chip, there isn’t much of an option for gaming, unless you’re into games that aren’t very demanding, like Sims 4. With that said, the drawback is limited to gaming, because stuff such as streaming Full HD movies and editing video should be fine with this GPU.

In this model, there is no backlit keyboard. This can be disappointing to some, but hey you can’t ask for everything.

Dell i5368-8833GRY Review: Verdict

In all honesty, most of the 2-in-1 laptops currently on the market aren’t as powerful as most people would like them to be. However, with theDell i5368-8833GRY, this isn’t exactly true. This just so happens to be one of the fastest convertible models available today. This means if you’re a power user, you’re going to be pretty satisfied. Having an Intel core i7 chip and 8GB RAM will surely help the power users. If you are a heavy user who wants a 2-in-1, this laptop is a good choice.
