With its nice silver finish, you can’t help but to love the design. It has a matte finish with a nice faint diamond design – it’s almost soft to the touch. We should also mention the fact that it’s a fingerprint magnet, which is a common flaw with most laptops.
The trackpad on it is flush with the tray and is made from the same matte material as the interior. The only difference is that the trackpad doesn’t have the diamond pattern that you’ll find on the outside of the laptop. It has two physical mouse buttons underneath. Needless to say, this is elegant – the type of trackpad you would expect to find on a much more expensive model.
The keyboard is also something that is worth pointing out – it has a decent amount of travel and an excellent click. As far as the design goes, you will probably be impressed by the texture of the keys. There is no backlight in the keyboard. Though it is just a minor issue, it can still make a few sad.
HP 15-ba030nr Specs
This HP 15-ba030nr offers a 15.6 inch display that supports 1366 x 768 resolution. This is not a touch sensitive screen, so keep that in mind. You’ll also find a webcam on the screen, it’s located at the top bezel and you can use it for chatting with friends, taking pictures and filming videos.
The 1TB 5400RPM hard drive that is installed gives it a good amount of raw storage space, however, it is lacking in the performance department. To fix this, you can put in a solid-state drive. However, the current drive, for example, is capable of holding up to 200,000 images, so you won’t be running out of space anytime soon.
The notebook also has a nice DVD burner and it comes with an SD card slot reader, making for quick data transfers.
The performance is decent with the AMD A8-7410 APU, it’s capable of taking a large amount of beating before it starts to slow down. With four cores, it has a clock speed of 2.2GHz and 2.5GHz turbo boost. It can do similar jobs to Intel Core i3s from the 5th generation.
There’s a decent amount of memory – 6GB in this laptop. However, if you wish to upgrade it, it is capable of being upgraded to 8GB. With this memory, you should be able to handle all the multitasking you’ve slated for the day.
As far as connectivity in the HP 15-ba030nr notebook goes, it features one USB 3.0, an HDMI port, two USB 2.0 ports, 802.11/b/g/n plus Bluetooth 40.0, an SD card reader and 10/100 Mbps Ethernet.
As for the battery life, the battery is a 3-cell 31Whr. This battery isn’t the best as it can offer up to four hours and after that, you will need to recharge. However, if you plan on using the laptop for a longer period of time, you can plug it into the wall when you’re using it.
This keyboard doesn’t have backlight, but that’s okay as well, especially if you don’t type in the dark.
However, if you’re a gamer, there’s not much good news – this laptop has average graphics performance. With the AMD Radeon R5, you can compare it to older integrated united such as Intel HD 4400. So, if you’re playing games like GTA 5, you’re going to get poor frame rates. However, if you’re into Minecrat or Runescape or other mid-rangers, you’ll be happy.
