Looking at the design of the Satellite Fusion 15, you will see that it offers a sleek twist on the conventional laptop. You can rotate its 360-degree hinge so that you can flip the screen. The screen can be flipped into five different viewing modes, so you can make it work the way you need.

Comparing the look to a traditional budget notebook, this Toshiba laptop has an upscale look, with its black and silver exterior. However, it’s not in the same league as the traditional notebook, which utilizes real brushed aluminum – this one right here is made from a plastic. The silver surfaces have a nice glossy finish, complete with faux brushed aluminum pattern nesting under it. Despite the fact that there are glossy surfaces, it doesn’t show fingerprints.

The only downfall we noticed about the build quality is the fact that the chassis flexes, without putting much effort. You can see this by pressing down on the keyboard with above average pressure.  Furthermore, if you press on the lid behind the screen, ripples will show up on the screen. With a better-protected lid and a stiffer chassis, these areas of concern wouldn’t be here. However, these “downfalls” shouldn’t be that big of an issue, as long as you treat the laptop with care and don’t throw it around.

Many people seem to like the nice 15.6-inch touch display. There are unlimited viewing angles, thanks to the in-plane switching technology. The brightness is good, in fact, it is so good that you could use it outdoors. However, while you will be able to see the screen outside, the only problem with using it outdoors is the reflective display surface.

The display has a plentiful contract and overall, a great picture, with 1366 x 768 pixels.

This laptop is being powered by a 5th gen Intel Core i3-5015u processor with a total of two cores and 6 GB of RAM. Due to this, it is fully capable of running more than one application smoothly.

It has an onboard Intel HD graphics chip, which is ideal if you are looking for stunning image quality and clear images.

When looking at storage, there’s not a whole lot to get excited about, honestly. This Toshiba laptop comes with a 500 GB hard disc drive. This is enough space for your files, like photos, music, and some videos. The plus side to the storage is the fact that it comes with built-in cloud support, allowing you to access your files, regardless of where you are. If you find that you need more storage, you could always hook an external hard drive up to it.

Connectivity and Other Stuff

A big downfall with this laptop is the fact that it doesn’t have a built-in DVD/CD drive, fortunately, by using one of the three USB ports (2 x 3.0, 1×2.0), you can easily hook an external DVD/CD drive up to it.

This Toshiba has a built-in media reader, supporting SDHC, UHS-I SD, miniSD, SDXC, MMC and microSD memory card formats. This makes it easy for you to move photos from your tablet, smartphone or your camera.

There’s an HDMI output, which will allow you to connect your laptop to a nice hi-res monitor or, if you with, you could create a two-monitor setup on your desk with this laptop. The wireless is three times faster than traditional wireless (Next-Gen Intel Wireless-AC connectivity). It also has Bluetooth 3.1, allowing you to connect other compatible devices to your laptop.

The backlit keyboard is pretty neat. With this illuminating keyboard, you can go from day to night, without having to struggle to see the keys.

The Toshiba Satellite Fusion L55W-C5252 has an average battery life with a usage time of three hours, 38 minutes. Under less demanding usage, the battery can last between five to six hours.

Another great feature would be the built-in stereo speaker setup. It is tuned by Skull Candy and utilizes the DTS South technology. This laptop can create a surround experience, allowing you to enjoy your movies and music, without struggling to hear.
