This is a very compact laptop. That is the first thing you are going to notice once you take a look at it. With a weight of just 3.5 pounds, it is easy to carry this thing around. Did anyone say travel?
Talking about the exterior, the laptop comes in satin gold and looks pleasing to the eyes. It has this decent design that anyone can like but isn’t anything fancy. The keyboard and the touchpad are pretty good as well. There also an HD webcam in the front that can be useful for making video calls.
Toshiba Satellite L15-B1330 Specs
You are greeted with an 11.6-inch LED-backlit TFT high-definition display. The screen comes with TruBrite technology and a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. With this small screen size, the pixel density is improved. As a result, the pictures are clear and more enjoyable.
This screen’s best use is for media consumption. You can also work at times. But when you are stuck in traffic during the busy hours, watching a movie, or some funny videos can surely bring the tension down.
The Intel Celeron N2840 powers this Toshiba Satellite L15-B1330 laptop. This is an entry-level processor and comes with a 2MB cache. It has a processing speed of 2.66GHz that is pretty decent.
The processor is good at basic things like browsing the web, streaming videos, checking emails, social media, and other important everyday stuff. You can also work on your office documents without having any performance issues.
The memory department here is filled with a 2GB DDR3L RAM. This is the minimum memory you need to run a computer. As this is the minimum, you are restricted in terms of operations. You can’t run many apps at the same time which is definitely not in line with what we have these days.
You don’t have a regular SATA hard drive here. Instead, we get a solid state drive with a capacity of 128GB. This isn’t a lot of space to play with, but the performance boost it provides is just amazing. The laptop literally boots in seconds. Opening and closing of apps is also faster which makes things a lot better.
The operating system in the Toshiba Satellite L15-B1330 is Windows 8.1, 64-bit version. You can upgrade to Windows 10 for free. But we are not sure how good the performance will be. The configuration here just meets the minimum requirements for Windows 10. So, we recommend staying in Windows 8.1 or even going back to Windows 7 if you don’t like the former.
The graphics card here is the mobile HD graphics. This is an integrated GPU and is suitable for light gaming. This is not a gaming laptop and don’t expect it to be one. You can play some light games and even some mid-range games with minimal settings.
There is one USB 2.0 port and a USB 3.0 port. There is an HDMI port that allows you to connect with high-end devices. The laptop also supports Bluetooth 4.0 through which you can pair external devices.
Toshiba Satellite L15-B1330 Review: Verdict
That brings this Toshiba Satellite L15-B1330 review to an end. This is a simple, compact, lightweight laptop that can be perfect for travel and light work. We can even recommend this to students as it is very cheap for a first laptop. Go for it, if you want a compact laptop that doesn’t cost much.
