The laptop comes in sky blue (as they say) and looks more sporty than professional. The texture on the lid gives a nice feeling gives you some grip. As a convertible device, this laptop offers four modes that can be useful in certain situations.

The first mode is the laptop mode to which we are used to. The second is the display mode that is great for watching movies and working on some applications. The third mode is called the tent mode, and this one is meant to be used where you don’t have a lot of places, like in Airplanes and during other travel as well. The final mode is what they call the pad mode. This is nothing but the tablet mode, again something we are used to.

Another very impressive part of this design is the portability. This is an 11.6-inch laptop and with that comes great portability. It weighs just around 3.31 pounds and that not a lot of weight. You can carry it wherever you go without breaking a sweat.

Acer Aspire R 11 R3-131T-P344 Specs

Let’s take a look at the display first. We have an 11.6-inch HD LED-backlit display that comes with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. This is nothing unusual but with the screen this small, you get a better pixel density that improves the overall picture quality. The 16:9 aspect ratio in the display is perfect for a movie during travel and also for work.

This is also a touchscreen as there are three modes that have only touch as an input. The touchscreen is responsive as it is capacitive. With the latest Windows operating system in place, this touchscreen will only make your Windows experience better.

The Acer Aspire R 11 R3-131T-P344 is powered by an Intel Pentium N3700 processor. This is a quad-core processor that comes with an average clocking frequency of 1.6GHz. The clock speed can be increased up to 2.4GHz, thanks to Intel’s Turbo Boost.

Acer Aspire R 11 R3-131T-P344 touchscreen laptopThis processor is not as good as the “i” series from Intel but surely packs a punch to run this convertible laptop. With a price tag of less than $400, this is the best you can get your hands on. The processor, however, is capable of running the operating system and the applications smoothly without any problem. You can even push the processor to run some high-end and it will to some extent.

There are four gigs in the memory department. This is not huge but still gives you the power to do some efficient multitasking. You can run multiple applications running in the background without disturbing your workflow. This RAM is more than enough especially when you are in the tablet mode.

The Intel HD graphics is not the best you can get your hands on. But you can still be able to do some casual and moderate gaming. If you are a serious gamer, then this notebook is not going to be of much help. For a casual player, this will do just fine.

Though the laptop is small in size, you get a lot of space. There is a 500GB hard drive that comes with a speed of 5400RPM. This is not the fastest in terms of speed, but still offers you some storage that is nice. The operating system the comes pre-loaded in the hard drive is Windows 10 which is the latest OS from Microsoft.

The battery life is taken care of by the 4-cell Lithium-ion 3220mAh battery pack. Acer claims that the battery will stay alive for about 8 hours, and that is more or less true depending on your usage. If you are a light user, then you might find that to be true. If you actively use a lot of software, then expect less life from the battery.

For connectivity, you have 802.11a/c Wifi featuring MIMO technology and Bluetooth 4.0. You also have a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port and an HDMI  Port, which can come in very handy at times. There is no optical drive due to the form factor.
