One would describe this laptop as simply gorgeous – it’s ultra-lightweight and gray in color. It runs on Windows 10, which has the new Iris technology. For those that aren’t aware of what Iris technology is, this means that when you first start the laptop up, it will take your picture. Then, whenever you use the laptop, your face will unlock it – this beats having to put in a password or a pin code.

When we say this laptop is very light in weight, we mean it – it only weighs 3 pounds. For this reason, it is perfect for travel, and an all-around great entertainment laptop. The screen size is big enough for movies and work, yet small enough to be portable.

The Dell Inspiron i5378-2885GRY has a versatile 360 hinge that enables four modes. You can use it in tent mode for working in shallow footprint space, in laptop mode for typing, and in stand mode for keeping up with Facebook. The wide-viewing-angle mode makes it so that you have a clear view in all of the modes.

With the dark gray exterior finish that is matched with a matte black inside, this laptop was definitely designed to impress. It has a professional appearance that looks amazing for every occasion.

The display screen of this laptop is 13.3 inch and puts out 1920 x 1080 pixels.  With the thin design, this laptop is great for working and watching movies on. Due to the fact that this Inspiron comes with Waves MaxxAudio audio and Intel HD Graphics 620, your media will look and sound amazing.

We also feel the need to mention the fact that there isn’t too much bloatware on this laptop. This is the first thing many gamers uninstall because they believe it takes up their resources. There is, however, Mcafee antivirus, and a suit of some useful utilities. If you are not a fan for these, then you can remove them easily.

As for the keyboard, it is comfortable to type on. The touchpad isn’t glass, but it is as responsive as you’d expect a touchpad to be.

This laptop is equipped with 802.11ac WiFi, offering a long-ranged fast wireless connection with fewer drops compared to the older designs.

Responsible for powering the system, you have the 7th Generation Intel Core i5-7200U processor (Up to 3.10GHz), which is fairly decent. Looking at the graphics, you are dealing with 8GB Single Channel DDR4 2400MHz. 8GB is more than enough memory as it will allow you to run more than one app at a time, without worrying about the system slowing down. If you are someone who works from home, this is a great option.

Looking at graphics in this laptop, you have Intel HD Graphics 620. As a gamer, with this GPU, you’ll be able to do some mid-range gaming. However, the downfall here is that you won’t be able to play the new high-end games on Ultra High settings. If you are a casual gamer, then this is nothing to worry about.

Looking at the weak point in this laptop, you have a 1TB 5400RPM SATA hard drive. You’re probably wondering what’s bad about this because 1TB is more than enough storage.

The storage is great for storing videos, songs, games and stuff like that. It’s the speed that is not that great with this hard drive. You see, when you have a slow hard drive, it means your boot up and the opening of apps will be slower in comparison with SSDs. However, if you’re a patient person, this isn’t that big of a downfall.

Dell Inspiron i5378-2885GRY Review: Verdict

If you’re looking for a decent laptop for work and you only plan on doing mid-range gaming, the Dell Inspiron i5378-2885GRY would be a good option for you. It has good graphics, good sound, and all the ports you need, not to mention the fact that it’s available at an unbeatable price.
