This new laptop comes in at a pretty affordable price range which is not a common thing for convertibles. The spec sheet is also not that bad, so you are guaranteed a good computing experience here. The design is easily one of the best points of this laptop. The laptop comes in satin gold color which screams premium from the outside. The first impression is very good and people won’t guess that this is a sub $450 laptop. Though the plasticky feel is evident, we can’t complain at this price point.

The hinges are smooth and that means you can effortlessly change modes according to your needs. You can use this as a laptop, or as a tablet, or even as a pure media consumption device. The keyboard we have here is a full-size one with a dedicated number pad. The speaker grill is just above the keyboard and gives a good output in terms of sound. The trackpad is not great but is good enough to get the job done.

Overall, a decent design that you can easily get along with.

Toshiba Satellite Fusion L55W-C5352 Specs

Let’s talk about the screen. We have a 15.6-inch display that comes with HD resolution fo 1366 x 968 pixels. Though this is high definition, you still aren’t getting a full HD experience. Again, for a budget device like this one, we probably shouldn’t ask for more.

As for picture quality, we really can’t blame the screen. The images look fine and you can use this laptop as your media consumption device without any problem. The viewing angles are not the best so make sure you stay right in front of the laptop.

The Toshiba Satellite Fusion L55W-C5352 is powered by an Intel Pentium dual-core 3825U processor that clocks at 1.9GHz. The processor also comes with a 2MB cache which isn’t going to help much with your modern day needs. With a CPU Mark score of around 2600, this processor definitely has what it takes to deal with your everyday tasks without any issues.

Toshiba Satellite Fusion L55W-C5352 laptopThe 4GB RAM in the memory slot also does its job. You can open up your browser and do a couple more things without facing any performance issues. If you are going to do something intense, then maybe this RAM is not the right choice. In that case, you can upgrade the memory to 8GB.

For storage, you have a 1TB5400RPM hard drive. This hard drive gives you all the space you want. The speed, however, is not the latest and the greatest. It might get slowed down later but that is the problem with 5400RPM drives. If you are a casual user, then you won’t notice the difference in speed that much.

Can I game on this laptop? Well, the Toshiba Satellite Fusion L55W-C5352 comes equipped only with an integrated graphics card. And with that, the gaming abilities of this laptop are greatly reduced. Sure, you can play most of the light and even some mid-range games without any problems. But if your heart is hoping to play Far Cry 4, or No Man’s Sky, then this laptop might disappoint you.

The battery life in this laptop is average. With light usage, you should get around 5 to 6 hours of battery life. If you are planning to take this for school or college and if you are a heavy user, then you may have to charge it in the middle of the day. But at this price, we can call this a minor con and move on.

How is the connectivity in this notebook? There are 2 USB 3.0 ports and a USB 2.0 port. These are great for external connectivity and data transfer. There is also media card reader that supports a number of formats. The laptop also supports wireless standards like 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0.

Toshiba Satellite Fusion L55W-C5352 Review: Verdict

Overall, this is a very good convertible laptop for the price. The processing power and everyday experience make this a great choice for light users. If you are looking for a nice convertible option that doesn’t break your bank, then this one is clearly a good choice.
